Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment is seeking a Kubernetes Platform Engineer (Controllers) to design and build controller-based automation for platform services, spanning cloud and on-premises deployments. You will work on the global workload placement system and CRD APIs to enable scalable, reliable operations.

You should have strong Go experience, Kubernetes development skills, and a track record of delivering distributed systems at scale.

Qualifications

3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Experience with Kubernetes development including controllers or operators.
Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

Design and develop Kubernetes controllers and operators for platform services.
Contribute to workload placement system across multi-cloud and on-premises data centers.
Develop Kubernetes APIs and CRDs for platform capabilities.
Build reconciliation logic to manage distributed state.
Automate provisioning, configuration, upgrades, and lifecycle management of Kubernetes components.
Collaborate with platform teams to automate operations of large-scale distributed systems.
Improve reliability, scalability, observability, and maintainability of the platform.
Investigate production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
