Job summary

Horizon Controls Group seeks a Junior Growth Engineer to join the pharmaceutical manufacturing team at the Ballydine facility in Co. Tipperary. This on-site role offers hands-on experience in automation, process control and GMP-compliant engineering projects.

You will work with experienced engineers on manufacturing systems, instrumentation, and data integrity, contributing to equipment reliability and process improvements in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• GMP-regulated manufacturing environment understanding gained through education or placement.
• 0–3 years of relevant experience including graduate placements or internships.
• Strong interest in automation technologies including PLC, SCADA, DCS, MES and instrumentation.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, communication and documentation skills.
• Proactive attitude and ability to work in a multidisciplinary engineering team.
• Familiarity with qualification principles and basic engineering change control.
• Experience with automation platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens or DeltaV is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering and automation activities across manufacturing systems, utilities and lab equipment in a GMP environment.
• Assist configuration, testing, maintenance and troubleshooting of automation systems (PLC, SCADA, DCS).
• Contribute to commissioning, qualification and validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ).
• Prepare and update engineering documentation (URS, FRS, test protocols, reports).
• Assist with change controls, deviation investigations and CAPA.
