About the Role

Our Client, a well-established Irish newspaper, is seeking a motivated Journalist to join their editorial team in Dublin. This is a one-year full-time contract with the intention of renewal. The successful candidate will be part of a close-knit newsroom of over 10 staff members, including four dedicated journalists.

This role requires a strong writer with excellent research and communication skills, who can deliver high-quality content on a weekly publishing schedule. Reporting directly to the Editor, you will contribute to news, features, and opinion pieces, ensuring engaging and accurate coverage for a loyal readership.

Key Responsibilities

• Research, write, and edit news and feature articles to weekly deadlines.
• Contribute original ideas and story leads that align with the newspaper’s editorial vision.
• Conduct interviews and gather first-hand information to support reporting.
• Collaborate closely with the Editor and fellow journalists to ensure content accuracy and balance.
• Uphold high standards of journalistic integrity and accuracy in all published work.
• Represent the publication in a professional manner at press events, community gatherings, and interviews.
• Provide support to the editorial team as required to meet weekly publishing schedules.

Requirements

Terms & Benefits
