Perform Recruitment is looking for an experienced Joinery Production Supervisor to lead and manage daily workshop operations for our client. This role is ideal for a hands‑on leader with a strong background in joinery manufacturing and Lean principles. You will play a key role in managing production, mentoring the workshop team, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to ensure high-quality output, efficiency, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate day‑to‑day joinery workshop operations, ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and cost control.
- Organize production workflow, allocate resources effectively, and ensure timely delivery of all projects.
- Mentor, train, and motivate workshop staff, promoting best practices in Lean manufacturing and fostering a high‑performing team.
- Collaborate with other departments, including Sales, Customer Service, Finished Goods Warehouse, Installations, and Logistics, to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to reduce waste and improve operational efficiency.
- Monitor production KPIs, address performance gaps, and ensure consistent adherence to quality standards and company policies.
- Support the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) within the workshop.
Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a team leadership role, ideally within a joinery or manufacturing environment.
- At least 3 years' hands‑on experience implementing Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Strong understanding of production processes, workflow optimisation, and quality control.
- Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop staff.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) for cross‑department collaboration.
- Proactive problem‑solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing production priorities.
- Competent in Microsoft Office; experience with SharePoint or other production management software is advantageous.
