Inventory Manager West Dublin

We are exclusively partnering with a major Distribution Centre in Baldonnnel Business park, which is the first of its kind in Ireland, on their succession planning for this amazing opportunity, to join an exceptional distribution business that is growing drastically and has amazing opportunities for all employees locally and globally.

About the role:

The Inventory Manager oversees the accuracy, integrity, and performance of all inventories within the Distribution Centre. This role manages the full end-to-end inventory process, including inbound, storage, controls, reconciliation, reporting and continuous improvement, to ensure products are available, traceable, and aligned with operational and customer requirements. The successful candidate will bring several years of deep experience across all levels of inventory management within a busy DC environment, with strong leadership and analytical capabilities. This is an amazing opportunity to revamp the current process to support this innovative business in its ambitious growth plans.

Key Accountabilities
  • Strategic Inventory Management
    • Lead the development, execution, and continuous improvement of the DC’s inventory management
    • Maintain high inventory accuracy across all locations by managing cycle counting programs, stock audits, variance analysis and process controls.
    • Develop and implement inventory policies, procedures, and best practices aligned with company standards and compliance requirements.
    • Oversee inventory profiling, slotting, and optimisation to improve space utilisation and picking efficiencies.
  • Operational Leadership
    • Manage and drive the performance of the Inventory Control team, including training, mentoring, and productivity management.
    • Collaborate closely with Receiving, Put-Away, Picking, Dispatch, Purchasing, and Demand Planning teams to ensure seamless material flow and accurate system.
    • Resolve complex inventory discrepancies through root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive action plans.
    • Oversee the handling of damaged, obsolete, and slow-moving stock, and make recommendations to minimise waste and improve working capital.
  • Systems & Data Management
    • Ensure integrity of data within the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and ERP
    • Monitor and analyse key stock KPIs including variance trends, shrinkage, cycle count compliance, and system accuracy.
    • Drive improvements in WMS utilisation, system workflows, and inventory transaction

    • Deliver clear daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly inventory performance reports to senior management.
    • Provide insights and recommendations based on trend analysis, operational data, and root-cause findings.
    • Support budgeting, forecasting, and operational planning by supplying accurate inventory-related data.
  • Continuous Improvement & Compliance
    • Champion continuous improvement initiatives using lean methodologies (e.g., 5S, Kaizen) to enhance DC efficiency and reduce operational errors.
    • Ensure compliance with all company policies, quality standards, audit requirements, and health & safety regulations.

Required Qualifications & Experience
  • You must drive and have car – location is not accessible otherwise
  • 5+ years of experience in inventory management or inventory control within a Distribution Centre or warehouse environment.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing inventory at multiple operational levels—from transactional accuracy to strategic planning.
  • Strong leadership and people management
  • Expertise in WMS and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
