Job summary

Ei Electronics seeks an ambitious Applications Engineer to join its Global Innovation Centre in Shannon. This is a hands-on, early-stage role shaping next-generation life-safety technology through prototypes and digital capabilities.

You will explore connected technologies, build backends, design APIs, and create dashboards and apps while using AI tools to accelerate development and prototyping across cloud, data analytics and IoT domains.

Qualifications

• A technical degree in CS, software or electronic engineering.
• Strong software development and programming skills.
• Experience using AI development tools to accelerate applications.
• Understanding backend development, databases and APIs.
• Knowledge of cloud technologies and connected-product architectures.
• Appreciation of UI/UX for clear interfaces.
• Understanding cybersecurity and data protection for connected products.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Explore emerging software, IoT and connected technologies for life safety opportunities.
• Develop backend services to collect and analyze data from products and sensors.
• Design APIs between devices, cloud services and user apps.
• Create dashboards, web and mobile experiences turning data into insights.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate development, testing and prototyping.
• Experiment with cloud platforms and data analytics.
• Build rapid proof-of-concept systems to test viability.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to connect prototypes with digital platforms.
• Contribute to new IP and patents.
• Collaborate with universities and partners to progress concepts.
