Job description

My client is looking for an Information Security Tech Lead with a minimum of 8 years of experience to join their organization based in Cork. This is a permanent role.

Responsibilities
  • Act as a deputy to the Information Security Manager when required, providing guidance and operational support to the security team.
  • Mentor and coach team members across technical security domains, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for internal stakeholders to resolve complex security issues using a risk-based approach.
  • Drive the implementation of technical security best practices in partnership with IT and engineering teams.
  • Lead and deliver security initiatives aligned with organisational strategy, ensuring projects and business initiatives are executed effectively.
  • Enhance the organisation's security posture by assessing current controls, monitoring emerging threats and technologies, and implementing appropriate safeguards to protect information assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
Key Skills & Experience
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years experience in information security with a strong technical background.
  • Proven experience across areas such as network and cloud security, incident response, threat and vulnerability management, and penetration testing.
  • Strong working knowledge of security frameworks and standards (e.g. ISO 27001, NIST, CIS).
  • Relevant security certifications preferred (e.g. CISSP, CISM, CEH, CCSP, GIAC, ISO 27001).
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non technical stakeholders.
