Job summary

SMBC Group in Tralee is seeking a Senior Application Security Engineer to ensure secure code practices and remediation across development teams. The role requires a strong development background and ability to explain issues to stakeholders in multiple languages.

Weekend and night support may be needed, with reporting to the AD Head of Application Security. Ideal candidates have 7+ years in app security, hands-on experience with SAST/DAST, container security, and CI/CD processes, plus

Qualifications

7+ years of experience as an Application Security analyst or penetration testing.
Experience managing remediation efforts and security champion programs.
Strong programming knowledge: C#, C++, Java, Python, .NET.
Ability to read code and explain deficiencies to developers and stakeholders.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and vulnerability remediation.
Knowledge of OWASP Top 10 and CWE.
Experience with Jira/Confluence and security documentation.

Responsibilities

Deliver code vulnerability remediation across SAST, SCA, DAST, IAST and container security.
Work closely with developers to ensure vulnerabilities are fixed before production.
Interface with architecture and security teams on vulnerability remediation and best practices.
Publish high-level State of AppSec reports for Americas Division entities.
Engage in manual testing to validate findings when needed.
Weekend/night work may be required based on project needs.
