Job summary

Cygnum Building Offsite, an established timber frame manufacturer in Macroom, Ireland, seeks an Assistant Accountant for a part-time role (60% FTE, 5 days a week). You will support day-to-day Finance, assist with month-end close, AP, payroll, and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in finance, strong IT/Excel skills, and experience with month-end processes. Hybrid work after training, ~3 days on site.

Qualifications

• A recognised Accounting Technician qualification is highly desirable; part-qualified accountants or experienced finance professionals will also be considered.
• Previous payroll experience is considered an important requirement for the role.

Responsibilities

• Month-end close responsibilities, including reviewing financial information for accuracy and completeness.
• Accounts payable processing and supplier interactions.
• Payroll support and overall finance operations.
