Job summary

Shareridge is recruiting a Lead HSQE Advisor to oversee health, safety, quality and environmental practices across civil engineering and water conservation projects. This full-time on-site role is based in Kilkenny with travel to the south east region, providing guidance, training and incident investigations.

You will develop and monitor HSQE policies, conduct site inspections and audits, ensure compliance with legislation and client requirements, and report to stakeholders and auditors.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of HSQE standards, regulations and best practices in civil engineering or construction.
• Experience with site inspections, risk assessments, audits and incident investigations with CAPA actions.
• Experience delivering HSQE training and toolbox talks.
• Excellent communication, collaboration and influencing skills to engage stakeholders.
• Professional qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH) and familiarity with ISO management systems.
• Strong organizational and reporting skills and ability to use HSQE software.

Role Description

The Lead HSQE Advisor is a full-time, on-site role based in kilkenny with travel in the south east region, responsible for overseeing Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental practices across civil engineering and water conservation projects. Day-to-day, the role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring HSQE policies and procedures, conducting site inspections and audits, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, client requirements, and internal standards. The Lead HSQE Advisor will provide guidance and training to project teams, investigate incidents and near-misses, and drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety culture, quality performance, and environmental stewardship. The role also includes preparing reports and documentation for internal stakeholders and external auditors, collaborating with project managers and supervisors to mitigate risks, and supporting bid and project planning activities with HSQE input. This position requires regular presence on project sites in the southeast region and area and close coordination with both operational and senior leadership teams.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental (HSQE) standards, regulations, and best practices within civil engineering or construction.
• Proven experience conducting site inspections, risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations, with the ability to implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Experience developing and delivering HSQE training, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns for diverse site and office-based teams.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and influencing skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels and promote a positive safety culture.
• Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH or equivalent safety certification, environmental or quality management training) and familiarity with ISO management systems.
• Strong organizational and reporting skills, including the ability to use HSQE-related software, compile data, and present clear, concise documentation.
• Background in civil engineering, utilities, or related infrastructure sectors; a degree or diploma in a relevant discipline is an advantage.
• Ability to work on-site in Kilkenny, travel to project locations as required, and adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
