Job description

CEL is an Irish-based manufacturer, distributor, and exporter of electrical switchgear, controls, and related products and services, with a 40-year track record, focused on supplying the global data centre industry.

Operating from Ireland and in support of our 400,000 sq ft of manufacturing capacity in Williamsburg, Virginia, we aim to double in size each year for the next three years.

CEL Critical Power is seeking an organised, proactive HR Coordinator to join our Dublin headquarters and support a growing HR function that spans Ireland and the US. Reporting to the Group HR Director, you will be the operational backbone of the team, coordinating the employee lifecycle from offer acceptance through onboarding and probation, maintaining accurate people data, and supporting the policies, systems, and projects that help CEL scale.

About the Role

The HR Coordinator plays a key role in supporting employees, managers, and the wider HR team across Ireland. You will be responsible for coordinating employee lifecycle activities, maintaining HR data and systems, supporting compliance and documentation requirements, and helping to deliver HR projects and initiatives as the organisation grows.

This is a broad, hands‑on role that requires strong attention to detail, sound judgement when handling confidential information, and a practical, service‑oriented approach to working with stakeholders at all levels of the business. You will contribute to the ongoing development of HR systems, policies, processes, and reporting, helping to build a scalable HR function that supports CEL's continued international growth.

Key Responsibilities

Onboarding & Employee Lifecycle

  • Coordinate new starter onboarding from offer acceptance through to first day and beyond, working closely with hiring managers, IT, Finance/Payroll, and department leads.
  • Prepare offer paperwork, contracts, and pre‑employment documentation.
  • Coordinate pre‑employment checks, including background screening and right‑to‑work verification.
  • Track probation periods and issue timely reminders and review documentation.
  • Coordinate internal moves, promotions, changes to terms and conditions, and employee offboarding activities.
  • Work closely with the Talent Acquisition team to ensure a smooth handover from recruitment to HR.

HR Systems & Data

  • Maintain accurate employee records within HR and time and attendance systems.
  • Ensure HR data is entered consistently, accurately, and on time.
  • Produce regular HR reports, including headcount, absence, turnover, and probation status reporting.
  • Support HR systems projects, including the rollout of a new group-wide HRIS, data cleansing and migration activities, testing, user guides, and end‑user support.

Policies, Compliance & Documentation

  • Maintain the employee handbook and HR policies, ensuring documentation remains current and version controlled.
  • Track policy acknowledgements and coordinate policy updates.
  • Maintain compliant personnel records in accordance with GDPR and Irish record‑keeping requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits by ensuring HR documentation aligns with company and ISO standards.

Employee Support & Administration

  • Act as a first point of contact for HR‑related employee and manager queries.
  • Issue employment letters, confirmations, and employment verification documentation.
  • Support employees and managers with policy interpretation and application.

Performance, Learning & Engagement

  • Coordinate performance and probation review cycles.
  • Maintain training and certification records, including expiry tracking and reminders.
  • Support employee surveys, onboarding sessions, and company communications.

Projects & Reporting

  • Support HR's weekly reporting to senior management.
  • Maintain HR trackers, reports, and status updates.
  • Contribute to HR initiatives such as handbook reviews, policy updates, HRIS projects, and process improvements across Ireland and the US.
  • Own and maintain the company organisational chart.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in an HR administration or HR coordination role.
  • Experience supporting an HRIS implementation or migration project.
  • Working knowledge of Irish employment law and HR best practice.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience using HRIS and time and attendance systems.
  • Strong understanding of confidentiality, data protection, and GDPR requirements.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Service‑focused approach when supporting employees and managers.
  • Comfortable working with colleagues across multiple time zones, including the United States.

Desirable

  • CIPD qualification or currently working towards one.
  • Experience within a manufacturing, engineering, or technical environment.
  • Experience supporting both office‑based and production‑floor employees.
