Hospital Chef – Dublin 4
We are seeking a HSE Hospital Chef to join a healthcare facility in Dublin 4, delivering freshly prepared meals that support patient care and wellbeing. This is a rewarding position ideal for chefs with experience in hospital kitchens, HSE facilities, or high‑volume catering environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and present nutritious meals in line with dietary and nutritional guidelines
- Lead or support daily kitchen operations to maintain efficiency, quality, and consistency
- Follow all HACCP, food safety, hygiene, and cook‑chill protocols
- Oversee stock rotation, food storage, and waste minimisation
- Monitor portion control, food presentation, and allergen management
- Collaborate with dietitians and clinical teams on menu planning and patient requirements
- Maintain a clean, compliant, and organised kitchen environment
Requirements
- QQI Level 6 in Culinary Arts or equivalent professional chef qualification
- Experience in a healthcare or high‑volume catering environment
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, food safety, and cook‑chill processes
- Legal right to work in Ireland and Garda Vetting clearance
- Ability to provide 5 years of work references
- Excellent communication, organisation, and time‑management skills
- Flexible to work weekday and weekend shifts as required
Salary & Benefits
- €20.50/hour, full‑time hours with double pay on Sundays & bank holidays
