Galway University Hospital in Galway is seeking an experienced Medical Scientist with strong Histopathology laboratory expertise to provide essential support within a busy, high-volume Histopathology Laboratory.

This full-time role is 35 hours per week, based at Galway University Hospital. Join a collaborative team in a leading acute teaching hospital and contribute to a Level 4 Supraregional Histopathology Laboratory.

Qualifications

• Proven microtomy experience across tissue types in Histology/Histopathology.
• Experience embedding diverse tissue specimens.
• Experience microtomy with blocks trimmed using AT192 Tissue Facing Device.

Responsibilities

• Provide general support within a busy Histopathology Laboratory.
• Embed a wide range of tissue types.
• Perform microtomy across tissue specimens to a high standard.
• Maintain quality and accuracy in laboratory procedures.
• Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary laboratory team.
