Job summary

Chadwicks Group in Roscommon is seeking a Hire Fitter/Driver to join our busy hire department in Roscommon. The role is permanent, full-time (39 hours) with a Monday–Friday week and possible Saturday roster.

You will maintain a wide range of plant and tools, deliver and collect stock, and provide customer demonstrations on safe operation of equipment. We value extensive product knowledge, fitter skills, and a strong driving background with Category C and CPC licences.

Qualifications

• Experience in the Hire industry with full product knowledge.
• Fitter capabilities and service mindset.
• Rigid driving experience with Category C license and CPC.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and service large plant items (mini excavators, road rollers, etc.).
• Maintain and service small plant items (cement mixers, breakers, plate compactor, etc.).
• Assists in on-site repairs and breakdowns.
• Ensure safety standards and safe working practices.
• Assist in data entry and stock movement in the hire system.
• Deliver and collect stock to customers and provide comprehensive demos.

Principle Objective

To work closely with the Hire Department Manager to ensure a high level of service to our customers while also adhering to high work standards.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance and service of our large plant items to include;

• Mini Excavators
• Mini Dumpers
• Road Compressors
• Vibrating Rollers

Maintenance and service of our small plant items to include;

• Cement Mixers
• Concrete Power Float
• Plate Compactor
• Poker Vibrators
• Maintenance and service of our electrical tools to include ;
• Angle grinders, Circular saw, Hammer drills, Breaker, Sanders.
• Maintenance and service of engine types
• Honda 4 stroke petrol
• Lister / Yammer 4 Stroke diesel
• Partner / Makita / Husqvarna Petrol 2 stroke
• Assisting in the general / day to day running of a busy hire department
• On site repairs and breakdowns.
• Ensure safety standards are met and safe working practices adhered too.
• Test and run for small fleet (pat test)
• Maintenance and light repair on small tool fleet
• Safeguard the assets of the company
• Ensure all company policies are implemented accordingly
• Be responsible for the safety of staff and customer
• Responsible for the upkeep of the shop and warehouse
• Assist in entering data onto the hire computer system
• Vehicle Health and Safety Management
• Taco Graph management
• Delivery and collection of stock to customers
• Provide comprehensive customer demonstrations on how to safely use plant and tool equipment
