Job summary

Chadwicks Group in Roscommon is seeking a Hire Fitter/Driver to join our busy hire department. You will maintain and service a range of large plant items and smaller tools, while ensuring high safety and service standards.

You will hold a Cat C licence and CPC, with fitter capabilities and experience in the hire industry, and you will be responsible for delivery and collection of stock to customers, plus on-site repairs as required.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive product knowledge with hire industry experience.
• Fitter capabilities required for plant and tools.
• Rigid driving experience and a Category C licence.
• CPC licence required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and service large plant items such as mini excavators and road rollers.
• Maintain and service small plant items and electrical tools.
• Ensure safety standards and safe working practices.
• Assist in day-to-day running of a busy hire department.
• Delivery and collection of stock to customers.
• On-site repairs and breakdowns.

Principle Objective

To work closely with the Hire Department Manager to ensure a high level of service to our customers while also adhering to high work standards.

Knowledge & Experience

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance and service of our large plant items to include;

• Mini Excavators
• Mini Dumpers
• Road Compressors
• Vibrating Rollers

Maintenance and service of our small plant items to include;

• Cement Mixers
• Concrete Power Float
• Plate Compactor
• Poker Vibrators
• Maintenance and service of our electrical tools to include ;
• Angle grinders, Circular saw, Hammer drills, Breaker, Sanders.
• Maintenance and service of engine types
• Honda 4 stroke petrol
• Lister / Yammer 4 Stroke diesel
• Partner / Makita / Husqvarna Petrol 2 stroke
• Assisting in the general / day to day running of a busy hire department
• On site repairs and breakdowns.
• Ensure safety standards are met and safe working practices adhered too.
• Test and run for small fleet (pat test)
• Maintenance and light repair on small tool fleet
• Safeguard the assets of the company
• Ensure all company policies are implemented accordingly
• Be responsible for the safety of staff and customer
• Responsible for the upkeep of the shop and warehouse
• Assist in entering data onto the hire computer system
• Vehicle Health and Safety Management
• Taco Graph management
• Delivery and collection of stock to customers
• Provide comprehensive customer demonstrations on how to safely use plant and tool equipment
