Job summary

JJ Duffy Demolition, Navan, Co. Meath, is seeking HGV Mechanics for an immediate start at their Navan facility. The role requires 2-3 years’ HGV mechanic experience with essential knowledge of ABS/EBS brake systems.

There are no formal minimum academic requirements; on-the-job training will be provided. 39 hours per week with a daytime pay rate of €18.05 per hour and a total annual remuneration of €36,605.00.

Responsibilities

• Fit, install, maintain, service and repair engines and equipment of heavy goods vehicles.

• Reassemble engines and parts after repairs; inspect brake systems (ABS/EBS).

Job Description

Our client, John J. Duffy Construction Limited t/a JJ Duffy Demolition, based in Navan, Co. Meath, is currently seeking HGV Mechanics for immediate start at their facility in Navan, Co. Meath.

• Qualifications: 2-3 years' HGV mechanic experience required.
• Mechanic Certification preferred but not essential.
• There are no minimum academic requirements.
• Further training will be provided on-the-job as required.
• To fit, install, maintain, service and repair engines and the mechanical and related equipment of heavy goods vehicles.
• To detect and diagnose faults in engines and parts
• To fit, examine, test and service heavy goods vehicles and engines
• To replace engine components or complete engines
• To fit, examine, adjust, dismantle, rebuild and replace defective parts of HGVs
• Essential knowledge includes vehicle diagnostics, and repairing & diagnosing ABS/EBS brake systems
• Essential skills include diagnosis and repair of trucks, trailers and vans
• The candidate must have experience in installing and adjusting motors, brakes and steering
• The candidate must have experience in installing, adjusting and servicing mechatronics components of HGVs
• The candidate must have knowledge and experience of performing scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes and engine tune-ups, to achieve smooth running of vehicles and compliance with pollution regulations
• The candidate must be able to reassemble engines and parts after repairs
• A mechanic qualification or certificate is a bonus but is not mandatory.
• 2-3 years' of relevant experience as a HGV Mechanic is required.
• Experience as a Mechanic in the construction or demolition industry is a plus.

Annual Remuneration: €36,605.00; Pay rate €18.05 per hour
