Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications in HGV mechanics or completed apprenticeship in commercial vehicle maintenance.
• Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic or in a similar role.
• Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues.
• Proficiency with a range of tools and equipment used in vehicle repair and maintenance.
• Excellent attention to detail and high-quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented attitude.
• Valid driver's license and relevant certifications for working on HGVs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks, including oil changes, brake adjustments, and tire rotations.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed on vehicles.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs and services.
• Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and advancements in vehicle technology.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and maintain a clean working environment.
• Assist with training junior mechanics and apprentices in proper repair techniques and safety protocols.
