Job Description

Do you want to be a valued part of the critical infrastructure that serves communities across Europe and beyond? Are you looking for a position in which you can keep things moving and deliver when it matters most? If so, then you could be the newest addition to our team as an HGV Driver – 45 hours week (in line with current driver legislation).

• Drive Heavy Goods Vehicle from depot to loading/unloading point in accordance with the delivery schedule.
• Deliver chill, produce and ambient products to all customers’ premises.
• Accurately record all activities in line with legislation and company requirements.
• Ensure all delivery notes are signed upon delivery.
• Adhere to road transport regulations.
• Work within the remits of the European Drivers Hours regulations.
• Work within the remits of the Working Time Directive.
• Ensure all loads are strapped down adequately.
• Check tyres, brakes, lights, oil, water and fuel levels and general condition of the vehicle.
• Agree delivery schedule and route with transport management.
• Assist with loading/unloading and ensure that load is evenly distributed and safely secured.
• Maintain records of journey times, mileage and hours worked via Tachograph.
• Undertake minor repairs and notify supervisor of any mechanical faults.

About you

• Full HGV Class 1 Licence.
• Valid Taco Card.
• Valid CPC Card.
• Must be 25 years+ (for insurance purposes).
• Good English verbal and written skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
