Job summary

Kevin Burke Tyres is seeking a full-time, permanent HGV Artic Driver to operate articulated heavy goods vehicles on multi-drop distribution routes.

The role includes overnight stays away from base as dictated by schedules and delivery requirements, and requires safe loading, securing loads, and maintaining vehicle roadworthiness.

Essential requirements include a full CE/C1E licence, CPC, tachograph card, a clean driving record and proven multi-drop experience. Accommodation is provided.

Responsibilities

• Comply with EU Drivers' Hours, tachograph, and Working Time rules.
• Complete delivery paperwork and obtain proof of delivery.
• Maintain vehicle roadworthiness and cleanliness.
• Represent the company professionally at delivery points.

• Job Title: HGV Artic Driver

• Location: Furzypark, Athenry, Galway, Ireland, H65 V443
• Reporting to: Transport Manager
• Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
• Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week, rostered across the week. Overnight stays away from base are a requirement of the role.
• Salary: From €38,000 per annum (based on a 40-hour week).
• Benefits: Accommodation provided.

Role Overview

Kevin Burke Tyres is seeking a full-time, permanent HGV Artic Driver to operate articulated heavy goods vehicles on multi-drop distribution routes. The role involves overnight stays away from base as dictated by route schedules and delivery requirements, and is central to the day-to-day movement of goods for the business.

Key Responsibilities / Duties

• Operating an articulated HGV safely and to a high standard on multi-drop delivery routes.
• Completing routes that require overnight stays away from base.
• Safe loading, unloading, securing and checking of loads.
• Carrying out daily pre-use vehicle checks and reporting defects promptly.
• Complying at all times with EU Rules on Drivers' Hours, tachograph regulations and Working Time regulations for mobile road transport workers.
• Completing delivery documentation and obtaining proof of delivery.
• Maintaining the roadworthiness, cleanliness and general upkeep of the assigned vehicle.
• Representing the company professionally with customers at delivery points.

Essential Requirements

• Full, valid CE or C1E driving licence for articulated HGVs.
• Valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
• Valid driver tachograph card.
• A clean, full driving record.
• Proven experience in multi-drop distribution driving.
• Availability and flexibility to complete routes requiring overnight stays away from base.

Desirable

• Experience with distribution of industrial or automotive goods.
• Good working knowledge of route planning and delivery scheduling.
