Heavy Equipment Operator

Pay: $50,000 - $60,000/year (including overtime)

Location: Ireland IN

About the Role

We’re looking for a dependable and motivated Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. The Heavy Equipment Operator plays a key role in serving our farm customers by safely and accurately applying crop protection products and fertilizer, as well as hauling products and materials to and from customer locations and company facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate application equipment (sprayers, spreaders, tender trucks) to apply fertilizers and crop protection products according to agronomic recommendations and label directions.
  • Safely transport agronomy products (fertilizer, chemicals, seed, etc.) using company trucks and trailers in compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Maintain and calibrate equipment to ensure accurate, efficient application and delivery.
  • Assist in agronomy operations, including mixing and loading products, performing maintenance, and supporting plant operations during busy seasons.
  • Work directly with agronomists and customers to ensure fields are treated correctly and on schedule.
  • Perform basic equipment and facility maintenance and assist with inventory management.
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and company policies and procedures at all times.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Class A or B CDL (or ability to obtain) with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to obtain commercial applicator’s license (company will assist with training and certification)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work extended hours during peak seasons.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in custom application, agronomy operations, or farm equipment operation.
  • Knowledge of precision ag technology, field mapping, and GPS equipment.
  • Basic computer or tablet skills for recording applications and work logs.
