Job summary

Craddock House Nursing Home in Naas, Co. Kildare, is seeking a dedicated Health Care Assistant (HCA) for a full‑time, permanent position.

You will deliver holistic care to residents, support daily living activities, and work with the care team to observe care plans and maintain a safe, respectful environment. The role requires QQI Level 5 in healthcare or an equivalent qualification, plus 2+ years in elder care or a Nursing/Allied Health/Healthcare degree.

Qualifications

• QQI Level 5 in healthcare (or equivalent).
• Nursing/Allied Health/Healthcare related Degree or equivalent qualification.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong supervisory and motivational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering a high standard of holistic care to residents, promoting equality and dignity.
• Carry out delegated tasks involving direct care and activities of daily living.
• Respect residents' privacy and dignity and promote independence.
• Provide attention and assistance to residents with limited mobility.
• Understand and observe care plans; alert nurses to changes in residents' health.
• Report any incident or potential incident affecting health and safety.
• Maintain a safe environment for residents, staff and visitors.
• Communicate effectively with residents and their relatives/representatives.
• Contribute to and enhance the quality of resident activities and events.

Education
