Job summary

Bluebird Care Ireland in Athy is seeking caring Health Care Assistants to support clients at home, helping them live independently with dignity and safety.

You’ll work with a nurse-led team, receive hands-on guidance, and enjoy flexible scheduling, bi-weekly pay, and ongoing training. Applicants should have QQI Level 5, Garda Vetting, and a full driving license to access client homes across Athy and surrounding areas. Qualifications

• QQI Level 5 (Care Skills & Care of the Older Person completed).
• Minimum 1 year's experience in a healthcare setting.
• Garda Vetting (and International Police Clearance if applicable).
• Fit-to-work certificate (or willingness to obtain).
• Full driver's licence and access to your own transport.
• Comfortable using Google Maps for navigation.
• Good English communication skills.
• A caring, dependable, and respectful approach.
• Full eligibility to work in Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Personal care (washing, dressing, mobility, toileting).
• Meal preparation and light household duties.
• Medication prompting and supervision.
• Providing companionship and emotional support.
• Supporting clients with Dementia, Alzheimer's, and high-dependency needs.
• Following individual Care Plans and recording care provided.
• Reporting any concerns to the care management team.

Your Role
