Job summary

Moorehall Lodge Ardee is seeking a dedicated Healthcare Assistant to support residents with daily living activities and holistic care in a nursing home setting. You will work as part of a caring team and follow care plans to ensure comfort and safety for all residents.

The role requires empathy, strong communication, and prior elder care experience. We offer ongoing training, equal opportunity employment, and a supportive work environment within Ardee, Co. Louth.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• QQI Level 5 in healthcare or equivalent.
• Nursing/Allied Health/Healthcare related degree is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering a high standard of holistic care to residents.
• Carry out daily living activities (washing, toileting, dressing, dining).
• Respect privacy and promote independence of residents.
• Provide assistance to residents with limited mobility.
• Observe care plans and alert nurses to changes in residents' state.
• Maintain a safe environment for residents, staff and visitors.

Healthcare Assistant (HCA) | Moorehall Lodge Ardee, Ardee, Co. Louth

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in delivering a high standard of holistic care to residents, always promoting their equality and dignity.
• Carry out assigned and delegated tasks involving direct care and all activities of daily living which may include e.g. washing, toileting, dressing, undressing, dining, social activities, conversation, communication support and all other aspects of daily living.
• Respect the privacy and dignity of all residents and promote their independence.
• Provide particular attention and assist residents who have limited mobility.
• Understand, be knowledgeable on and observe care plans and alert nurses immediately regarding any changes in the physical and mental state of the residents.
• Report immediately any incident or potential incident which may compromise the health and safety of residents or visitors.
• Maintaining a safe environment for the residents, staff and visitors of the home.
• Communicate effectively with all residents and their relatives/representatives.
• Contribute to and enhance the quality of resident activities and events.
• QQI Level 5 in healthcare (or equivalent)
• OR Nursing/Allied Health/Healthcare related Degree
• Experience in elder care
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Strong supervisory and motivational skills
• Eligibility to work in Ireland
