Responsibilities
  • Developing and Implementing Safety Policies: Build comprehensive health and safety policies and ensure effective implementation across the organization.
  • Alignment: Guarantee the organization aligns with all pertinent laws and regulations.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement measures to mitigate them.
  • Training and Education: Provide training and mentorship to employees on safe practices and emergency procedures.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Keep track of health and safety performance and report on it to senior management.
  • Promoting a Safety Culture: Foster a culture of safety within the organization to boost overall well‑being and efficiency.
  • Managing a Team: Lead and develop a team of health and safety professionals, ensuring they are well‑trained and motivated.
  • Collaborating closely with Public Bodies: Liaise with regulatory bodies, such as the Health and Safety Authority (HSA), to ensure compliance and address any issues that arise.
Qualifications
  • Degree in health and safety or equivalent experience is desirable.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Fire safety engineering is desirable.
  • Member level accreditation of an appropriate professional body.
  • CIF/IOSH PSDP qualification.
  • Management experience in the construction and/or retail environment.
  • Proven experience in policy development and implementation.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong digital literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
