Job summary

Conack-Construction in Youghal, Cork, seeks an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support on a project basis. You will conduct weekly site safety audits, advise management on regulations, and coordinate safety training for site staff.

You will develop risk assessments and method statements, maintain the safety management system, lead toolbox talks, and ensure subcontractor documentation is current. A recognised EHS degree or diploma and 4–6 years’ Irish contractor experience are required.

Qualifications

• Recognised EHS Degree or Diploma.
• Experience 4-6 years in a similar role with an Irish main contractor.
• Proficient IT skills with MS Office and database experience.
• Experience on high-value projects.

Responsibilities

• Conduct weekly site safety audits and report findings.
• Advise site management on Health & Safety regulations.
• Coordinate and deliver safety training for site staff.
• Perform risk assessments and assist in developing method statements.
• Compile monthly safety reports for management.
• Hold weekly safety meetings with subcontractors to ensure coordinated and safe activities.
• Monitor health and safety compliance, stopping unsafe operations if necessary.
• Assist in maintaining the safety management system and legislative compliance.
• Keep safety files up to date, ensuring all subcontractor documentation is reviewed and current.
• Implement daily Safe Plan of Action (SPA) forms.
• Deliver weekly Safety Focus (Toolbox) Talks and maintain attendance records.
• Record, investigate, and report accidents/near misses.
