Job Description

Douglas nursing home, Moneygourney, Cork, Co. Cork, Douglas Nursing and Retirement Home currently seeking for a experienced Health Care Assistant to join our well established nursing home, where we are committed to providing exceptional care and improving the lives of our residents. The role is full time, 39 hours per week, Pay Rate 30.000 per annum.

Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating.
  • To assist in maintaining safe levels of care and ensuring safe practice.
  • To liaise with and carry out the instructions of the nurse in charge and other allied professionals.
  • To promote the physical, emotional, social and intellectual well being of residents.
  • Assist with mobility and physical therapy exercises.
  • Ensure a clean and safe environment for patients.
  • To work in accordance with any regulations pertinent to the safe running of the home i.e. Safety, Health and Welfare at work Act 1989, HIQA, HSE.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting, minimum 12 months experience.
  • QQI Level 5 Award in Healthcare.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Compassionate and patient-focused attitude.
