Irwin and Colton has been engaged by a major Principal Contractor to recruit a Health and Safety Lead. The global company is currently completing a broad range of major construction and infrastructure projects, with this role focused on leading the health and safety agenda for a major infrastructure project in Dublin. It is essential candidates for this role have a proven track record of engaging and influencing senior management, ideally at board level.

Responsibilities for the Health and Safety Lead will include
  • Working with the Health and Safety Director to develop and continually refine the health and safety strategy for the project
  • Leading the Health and Safety function, ensuring the delivery of the strategy on site
  • Influencing, engaging, and coaching key internal and external stakeholders to implement change
  • Constantly assessing opportunities for improvements and sharing best practice across the organisation
The successful Head of Health and Safety candidate will have
  • Proven leadership experience in a similar role, ideally within construction, civil engineering, or a related industry
  • Experience in influencing, engaging, and coaching senior management and site-level operations
  • A NEBOSH Diploma, degree, or NVQ5 (or equivalent)
  • Experience with innovative occupational health, wellbeing, and behavioural programmes
