Job summary

Chanelle Pharma seeks a Head of Quality Assurance to provide strategic and operational leadership of the QA function in Ireland. Based at our Loughrea facility, the role combines on-site leadership with hybrid working options after probation, guiding QMS, validation, and QP activities to ensure inspection readiness and product quality.

Qualifications

• Degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Science, Quality Assurance, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.
• Eligibility to act as a Qualified Person (QP) within the EU/EEA.
• 10+ years in pharmaceutical quality roles within a GMP environment.
• 5+ years in leadership roles managing multidisciplinary quality teams.
• Experience in Quality Operations, Quality Systems, Validation, and regulatory inspections.
• Experience certifying commercial product batches.
• Strong knowledge of EU GMP, GDP, ICH guidelines and QMS principles.
• Experience with eQMS, validation lifecycle management, and inspection readiness.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Quality Assurance organisation, including QMS, Validation, and QP personnel.
• Define and execute the Quality Strategy aligned with regulatory expectations.
• Promote a culture of quality, compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Govern quality metrics, KPIs, and governance across QA functions.
• Oversee manufacturing, packaging, testing, warehousing, and distribution quality oversight.
• Approve batch review, disposition, certification, and release processes.
• Act as Primary QP or oversee QP activities and certifying batches.
• Ensure regulatory inspections readiness and successful regulatory interactions.
• Drive continuous improvement and digital transformation (eQMS, LIMS).
• Engage cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Regulatory, Engineering, and Supply Chain.
