Head Chef

An established 4-star hospitality property in Limerick is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead its kitchen operation. This is a hands‑on leadership role suited to a chef who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is committed to delivering consistently high‑quality food.

The successful candidate will take full responsibility for kitchen operations, team leadership, menu development, food safety compliance, and cost control, while fostering a positive and collaborative kitchen culture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring food is prepared and presented to the highest standards
  • Lead, manage, and motivate the kitchen team, fostering a positive and cohesive working environment
  • Develop, train, and coach kitchen staff, maintaining ongoing training programmes
  • Plan and manage rosters, control labour costs, and support recruitment where required
  • Maintain high standards of productivity, performance, and service during peak periods
  • Drive creativity through seasonal menu development and special event offerings
  • Ensure all dishes are prepared and delivered in a timely and consistent manner
  • Implement and maintain HACCP standards, ensuring full compliance and documentation
  • Manage food, energy, and waste control initiatives within the kitchen
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers and internal departments
  • Communicate effectively with staff and management through meetings, briefings, and handovers
  • Report regularly to senior management on performance, purchasing, and operational improvements
Key Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a senior kitchen leadership role, ideally within a 4-star hotel or similar environment
  • HACCP trained with a strong focus on food safety and hygiene standards
  • A genuine passion for delivering exceptional food quality and guest experiences
  • Creative and innovative approach to menu design
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high‑pressure environment
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Professional appearance with a positive, flexible attitude
  • Availability to work variable shifts, 5 days over 7, including weekends
  • Must be legally entitled to work full‑time in Ireland
