Job summary

A construction recruitment agency is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor for a new build residential project in Co. Sligo. The ideal candidate will have a minimum Level 6 in Health & Safety, at least 3 years of experience in a similar role with an Irish contractor, and a background in residential construction. This role includes reporting on safety compliance and maintaining Health and Safety standards on site.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in a H&S Position with an Irish Main Contractor/Developer.
  • Experience with residential construction is ideal.
  • NEBOSH certification desired.

Responsibilities

  • Report to and support the Contracts Manager & Project Manager.
  • Ensure direct staff and subcontractors adhere to Health & Safety policies.
  • Carry out method Statements, COSHH assessments, toolbox talks.

Skills

Excellent organisation and communication skills
Ability to use Microsoft Office

Job Title – Health & Safety Advisor

Project – New Build Residential

Job Location – Co. Sligo

Salary – Salary can be negotiated for the right person

The Role
  • Report to and support the Contracts Manager & Project Manager
  • Work with the Project Manager to create and implement site construction stage plans for different construction activities including waste management, traffic management etc.
  • Ensure direct staff and subcontractors are aware of and adhere to Health & Safety policies and procedures at all times
  • Use company software efficiently to ensure H&S Targets & Goals are met
  • Ensure that staff partake in the necessary audit process
  • Communicate with Senior Management and Site teams on Health and Safety requirements for site
  • Uphold PPE Stocks, ensuring staff are well equipped for site work
  • Maintain the promotion of Health and Safety on site and its presence
  • Carry out method Statements, COSHH assessments, toolbox talks, O&M manuals etc
  • Organise site visits, assessments and reporting
  • Provide information to support pre-qualification requirements for various clients
Job requirements
