Job Description

The HR Manager plays a key role in supporting the smooth running of the restaurant by leading all people-related functions. This role ensures the restaurant attracts, develops, engages, and retains top talent, while fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture that aligns with McDonald’s values and business goals.

Responsibilities
  • Recruitment & Onboarding
    • Lead recruitment campaigns to attract high-quality candidates for crew, shift, and management positions.
    • Oversee job advertising, screening, interviewing, and hiring processes.
    • Deliver effective onboarding programs to ensure new hires are set up for success and feel welcomed into the team.
  • Training & Development
    • Collaborate with shift and training managers to plan and deliver effective crew and manager training programs.
    • Monitor progress of employee development and succession planning to ensure a strong talent pipeline.
    • Support leadership development initiatives, coaching managers on people management best practices.
  • Employee Relations
    • Act as the first point of contact for employee concerns, grievances, and conflict resolution.
    • Promote a positive and respectful work environment, ensuring compliance with McDonald’s People Promise.
    • Investigate and resolve HR-related issues in line with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Performance Management
    • Support managers with performance reviews, probation meetings, and goal‑setting discussions.
    • Identify opportunities for recognition, reward, and performance improvement.
    • Monitor key people metrics (turnover, absence, engagement) and recommend action plans.
  • Compliance & Administration
    • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with labor laws, GDPR, and company policies.
    • Manage scheduling in collaboration with the management team to balance labor costs and operational needs.
    • Keep up to date with HR and employment legislation, implementing updates as necessary.
  • Culture & Engagement
    • Champion McDonald’s culture, diversity, and inclusion initiatives.
    • Plan and support employee engagement activities, recognition events, and team‑building initiatives.
    • Actively promote employee wellbeing and work‑life balance.
