Overview

An exciting new opportunity presents itself here in the Aloft Dublin City Hotel as we expand our Accommodation Team. We are on the lookout for a flexible and organised individual to join our growing team in the position of Linen Porter (Full-Time basis).

Located in the heart of The Liberties, Aloft Dublin City is one of Dublins uniquely styled hotels. Our hotel consists of 202 bedrooms, expanding meeting space, gymnasium, F&B outlets together with an on-site Gastro Pub. The 7th floor, complete with floor to ceiling windows boasts panoramic views of the entire city and is where the F&B outlets are located. Position Purpose

The Accommodation Porter assists the Accommodation Manager and Supervisors in the day to day servicing of the Accommodation department. This person is an essential assistant to the entire accommodation team with regard to both provision and removal of items from the corridors in addition to restock supplies and light maintenance wherever required and as directed/requested by your department head, supervisor or by any member of the management team.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • To collect your allocated jobs for that day.
  • To distribute the linen and towels to the housekeepers on the floors.
  • To collect trays from the corridors bringing them to wash-up and stacking the crockery to the agreed standard.
  • Keep fire exits free at all times.
  • Keep all the gents / ladies toilets in the hotel cleaned to the required standard.
  • Clean and hoover the link corridor ensuring that all of the furniture is in the correct place.
  • Keep the stores, cupboards and trolleys stocked and tidy.
  • Move any furniture that needs moving.
  • To assist with luggage as and when required.
  • Deal with all guest requests promptly, taking personal responsibility to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain daily house porter logbook as developed and directed by the accommodation manager and conduct informative handover to next shift ensuring that all relevant information is passed on clearly.
