EY FS Ireland is expanding its Technology Consulting team and seeks a Programme Director to lead major technology transformation programmes for financial services clients in Dublin.

You will steer multi-disciplinary teams, manage governance and client relationships, and translate delivery risk into business value in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience leading complex technology transformation programmes.
• Proven ability to lead major programmes across the full software delivery lifecycle.
• Strong experience in senior stakeholder management, governance, vendor management, and executive reporting.
• Excellent understanding of delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid).
• Demonstrated ability to manage scope, plans, budgets, risks, issues, dependencies, and delivery quality.
• Experience delivering business value from technology to senior business stakeholders.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Third-level degree in IT, Business, Engineering or relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Operate in complex, multi-vendor environments and guide scope, sequencing, and priorities.

About the role:

The Programme Director is a senior leadership role in EY FS Technology Consulting, responsible for leading major technology transformation programmes across financial services clients. The role combines programme leadership, client stakeholder management, delivery assurance, commercial awareness, and the ability to mobilise high-performing teams across complex, regulated environments.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Lead large-scale technology transformation programmes from mobilisation through delivery, transition and benefits realisation.
• Provide senior programme leadership across multi-disciplinary teams including business, technology, architecture, engineering, testing, risk, and operations.
• Establish and maintain strong governance, programme controls, delivery plans, dependency management, risk management, and executive reporting.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, translating complex delivery risks and decisions into clear business choices.
• Lead delivery quality across programme outcomes, ensuring alignment between client objectives, technology strategy, and measurable business value.
• Operate effectively in complex, multi-vendor environments and help clients make pragmatic decisions on scope, sequencing, trade-offs, and delivery priorities.
• Mentor and develop senior EY team members, supporting capability growth across the Platforms practice.
• Support growth and pursuits through programme delivery insight, proposal input, and client credibility.

Skills And Attributes For Success

To qualify for the role, you must have:

• 12+ years of experience leading complex technology transformation programmes, ideally within financial services or other regulated environments.
• Proven ability to lead major programmes across the full software delivery lifecycle, from strategy and design through build, test, deployment and run.
• Strong experience in senior stakeholder management, governance, vendor management, and executive-level reporting.
• Excellent understanding of technology delivery methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall and hybrid delivery models.
• Demonstrated ability to manage scope, plans, budgets, risks, issues, dependencies, and delivery quality across large programmes.
• Experience in delivering business value from technology and communicating that value to senior business stakeholders.
• Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong academic record including a third-level degree, preferably in IT, Business, Engineering, or a relevant field.

Ideally, you will also have:

• Previous consulting experience is a distinct advantage.
• Experience across one or more of the following: Core Banking, Payments, Channels, Credit or Financial Crime, is preferred.
• Experience operating in fast-paced, multi-vendor client environments.
• Relevant programme or delivery certifications such as MSP, PMP, PRINCE2, SAFe or equivalent.
