Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an Inspector to conduct routine inspections, perform testing and preventative maintenance on life safety product lines. You will work with low voltage wiring, complete service acknowledgements, and maintain a structured inspection schedule while traveling as required.

The role involves minor repairs, programming changes, and training less experienced inspectors. A valid driver’s license, safety compliance, and strong customer service are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of installation or service experience in testing and inspecting fire alarm equipment.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Capable of performing physical labor (50-70 lbs).
• Able to climb ladders, scaffolding up to 40 ft and access ducts/crawl spaces.
• Willing to travel out of town with overnight lodging.
• Demonstrate strong customer service.
• Adhere to safety guidelines at all times.
• Strong organization and quick learning.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and suitable driving history.
• Able to obtain necessary licenses per codes.
• Moderate level of computer/software proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Inspect routine inspections, testing, service, and preventative maintenance on fire alarm equipment lines.
• Work with low voltage wiring and related devices for operation of equipment.
• Follow a structured inspection schedule and complete service acknowledgements.
• Input, retrieve, and archive inspection documents via mobile device.
• Make minor repairs and programming changes to inspected systems.
• Provide technical training to junior inspectors and trainees.
• Complete assigned inspections on time and perform other duties as assigned.
