Job summary

U.S. Bank in Dublin is seeking an experienced Financial Risk Manager to join the Operational & Enterprise Risk Management (OERM) team, focusing on financial risk oversight as the Balance Sheet optimisation programme expands.

You will lead risk assessments, support Treasury and Finance, and produce quarterly reports for the Executive Risk Committee. Collaboration with first- and second-line stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in finance, mathematics, economics or business.
• Master’s in Risk Management or CFA/FRM/PRM advantageous.
• Experience with market, liquidity, and capital regulatory requirements.
• Experience liaising with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support second line oversight of liquidity, capital, and market risks.
• Review and challenge local Treasury and Finance inputs.
• Prepare quarterly risk assessment reports for the Executive Risk Committee.
• Develop scenarios and sensitivity analyses for Emerging Risk process.
• Develop and calibrate Key Risk Indicators.
• Maintain awareness of regulatory and market developments affecting risk.

Job Description

6 Month Fixed Term Contract.

This role provides an excellent opportunity for an experienced candidate to join the Bank's Operational & Enterprise Risk Management (OERM) team, focusing on financial risk management, as the Bank expands its Balance Sheet optimisation programme.

The Financial Risk Manager will provide leadership, direction and support to the Senior Financial Risk Manager and Chief Operational Risk Officer & Enterprise Risk Management in reviewing and challenging the financial risks that OERM provides second line oversight of.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support second line oversight of the Bank's liquidity, capital, and market risks, including IRRBB, FX and CSRBB, through review and challenge of the Bank's local Treasury and Finance teams, as well as the Bank's ICAAP, ILAAP, Funding Plan and Recovery Plan documents.
• Enhance the Bank's market, capital, and liquidity risk oversight as the Bank matures and expands its Balance Sheet optimisation programme.
• Prepare quarterly assessment reports for the Bank's Executive Risk Committee on its liquidity, capital, and market risk profiles.
• Support the production of periodic business model scenarios and sensitivity analysis to support the Bank's Emerging Risk process.
• Contribute to the enhancement of the financial risk management process through the development and calibration of Key Risk Indicators.
• Maintain a strategic perspective on market, socio-economic, political, regulatory, and industry-specific events, and provide management with key emerging insights into their potential implications for the Bank's risk profile.
• Establish successful collaborative relationships with key business units and with both first-line and second-line stakeholders.
• Support the Bank’s annual Material Risk Assessment.

Experience and Qualifications:

• 5+ years of financial risk, capital management, or Treasury experience.
• A strong track record of working with senior stakeholders.
• Sound understanding of market, liquidity, and capital regulatory requirements.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent within a technical discipline (e.g., Finance, Mathematics, Economics or Business).
• A Master's in Risk Management, or a professional designation in accounting (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) or risk/finance (FRM, PRM or CFA), would be an advantage.
