A leading fuel provider in Dublin is seeking a Finance Assistant for a fixed term contract of 9-12 months. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of finance experience, excellent attention to detail, and strong organisational skills. Overview

Top oil has a vacancy for a Finance Assistant on a fixed term contract (9 - 12 months) in our Company owned service stations Finance Department. This role is based in our Head Office Top Oil, Block P1 EastPoint Business Park, Dublin 3. Reports to: Financial Controller

Main Purpose of Job:

The person will be a key member of the Finance Function, working with the Financial Controller and assisting in the day to day operations of the finance department. This role is ideal for a candidate looking to develop into a Finance role.

Main Duties/Responsibilities
  • Responsible for a number of key accounting processes and the reconciliation of related control accounts.
  • Maintain Creditors ledger including booking invoices and allocating payments.
  • Reconciliation of Creditor balances.
  • Perform daily data import process and ensure issues are resolved.
  • Build strong working relationships with suppliers and staff to ensure issues and queries are resolved.
  • Assist with the month end close process (balance sheet and profit and loss).
  • Assist with the year end audit.
  • Other finance duties and tasks as required by the Financial Controller.
Qualifications and Experience Required
  • A minimum of 3 years experience working in a similar role in a finance department.
  • An ability to multitask whilst prioritising deadlines.
  • Excellent organisational, analytical and time management skills.
  • The candidate will have excellent attention to detail and problem solving skills.
  • Numerate with good PC (MS Excel, Word) skills.
  • Third level Finance qualification or equivalent - IATI, partly qualified ACCA/CIMA.
  • Previous experience using JD Edwards an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal & written).
