Job summary

Brightwater Recruitment in Ireland is seeking a proactive finance professional to manage monthly management accounts, deliver key performance reports, and support budgeting and forecasting. You will also handle VAT, CSO returns, CCR submissions, cash flow monitoring, and supplier payments in a dynamic finance function.

The role includes assisting with statutory financial statements, corporation tax information, liaising with external auditors, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Job description

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including supporting schedules, and submit reports to management.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely reconciliation of accounting data.
  • Produce monthly business performance reports and provide ad hoc financial analysis as required.
  • Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Process payments, including supplier payments and direct debits, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare and submit statutory returns, including VAT and Central Statistics Office (CSO) reporting.
  • Manage cash flow and monitor bank balances to ensure sufficient operational funding.
  • Assist with the preparation of statutory financial statements and liaise with external auditors.
  • Support the preparation of corporation tax information and Revenue submissions.
  • Monitor and manage business service contracts, including insurance and other supplier agreements.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals, and depreciation.
  • Monitor operating expenses against budget and support annual budgeting activities.
  • Prepare and submit monthly data to the Central Credit Register (CCR).
  • Support data integrity and ensure appropriate backup of financial information.
Regulatory & Compliance
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Keep up to date with changes to accounting standards, taxation legislation, and corporate governance requirements.
  • Support internal controls, financial policies, and business continuity procedures.
  • Provide assistance to senior management on statutory, taxation, and regulatory matters as required.
