Our client, a well-established and progressive property development and construction group, is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the financial management of multiple development projects within a business known for its quality, innovation, and community-focused approach.

The Role

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the Financial Accountant will be responsible for managing financial reporting, compliance, and control processes across construction operations. The role will involve preparing management accounts, overseeing project accounting, managing creditors, and supporting decision-making with accurate financial insights.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, profit & loss statements, and balance sheets for multiple projects.
  • Produce financial reports and variance analysis for management and board review.
  • Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and cost control activities.
  • Manage project accounting, including invoice processing and subcontractor payments.
  • Oversee creditor management, reconciliations, and supplier payment runs.
  • Ensure compliance with RCT, VAT, and other construction-related tax requirements.
  • Manage intercompany transactions and assist with group consolidations.
  • Maintain robust financial controls and support month-end and year-end processes.
  • Recommend and implement system and process improvements.
  • Provide financial insights to support operational and strategic decisions.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA).
  • 2+ years’ experience in a financial accounting role, ideally within the construction or property development sectors.
  • Strong understanding of Irish construction finance, taxation, and project accounting.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP or construction-focused accounting systems.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and analytical ability.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Proactive, solutions-focused approach with a commitment to continuous improvement.
