Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a qualified accountant for a leadership role in a high volume manufacturing facility in County Cavan, Ireland. The successful candidate will manage day-to-day finance operations, lead monthly reporting, and act as a key business partner across operational teams. The ideal candidate should have strong manufacturing experience and a hands-on, solutions-driven mindset, alongside at least three years of post-qualification experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth understanding of standard costing and factory finance operations.
  • Prior exposure to Shared Services environments advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Lead month-end close and deliver management accounts and performance dashboards.
  • Analyse financial results, investigate variances, and provide insights to operation teams.
  • Support annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and cost improvement tracking.
  • Prepare value stream profit & loss accounts, standard cost calculations, and flash reports.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate reporting requirements and internal controls.
  • Partner with operational teams on OPEX management, capital expenditure, and grant claims.
  • Provide financial evaluation of business cases and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support internal and external audits, and drive control enhancements.
  • Act as deputy for the Financial Controller as required.
