Job summary

Cornmarket Group Financial Services Ltd. is seeking a Data Analyst in Dublin to manage and deliver data analysis for salary deduction schemes within the Finance Division.

You will lead data-driven initiatives, engage with unions, payroll and third parties, and provide MI to support decision-making. The role emphasizes onboarding of new schemes, data transformation, and governance of change initiatives with cross-functional teams from Technology and PMO.

Qualifications

  • Strong business acumen with a good understanding of organizational issues and challenges.
  • Practical experience of ETL (extract, transform, load) processes and data integration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft data and reporting tools such as Power BI, Excel (advanced), and related Office 365 applications.
  • Experience working with cloud data platforms and services, ideally Microsoft Azure (e.g. Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake)
  • Have experience and working knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools.
  • Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Excellent communication skills including active listening skills.
  • Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders within the Finance Division and the wider business, including unions, employers, payroll departments and third-party providers.
  • Partner and collaborate with stakeholders on change initiatives to fully understand requirements, constraints and expectations, and to ensure these are translated into clear, actionable data analysis deliverables.
  • Ensure strategically important organisational projects affecting the Finance Division are appropriately planned, with clear scope, timelines and responsibilities agreed prior to commencement.
  • Plan and communicate the progress of activities with appropriate frequency, ensuring that risks, issues and dependencies are identified, assessed, prioritised and escalated or communicated as required.
  • Produce and maintain high-quality management information (MI) and reporting to support decision-making, track performance and evidence the impact of change initiatives.
  • Provide efficient and effective support to the Finance Department in relation to technical queries, synchronisation failures, hardware and system access, user training and related operational activities, working closely with colleagues in Finance, Technology and Operations.
  • Lead end-to-end data analysis to support the onboarding of new schemes.
  • Engage directly with unions, employers, payroll departments and third‑party stakeholders to capture and validate data requirements, operational rules, service expectations and control needs.
  • Profile and analyse data to assess scheme suitability, identifying data quality issues, anomalies, gaps and risks that may impact operational performance, compliance or customer outcomes.
  • Define detailed data transformation, validation and loading rules to enable robust, efficient and controlled processing, working with Technology and Operations to ensure these are implemented and tested effectively.
  • Review existing scheme datasets and related administrative processes to identify operational inefficiencies, control weaknesses and service risks driven by data, process or system constraints.
  • Analyse historical data flows, workarounds and manual activities to understand their impact on scalability, accuracy, timeliness and service quality, and document findings clearly.
  • Recommend data‑led improvements to processes, controls and supporting systems, producing structured business requirements, impact assessments and supporting documentation.
  • Work closely with Technology, Change and PMO teams to deliver automation and data‑driven process enhancements that improve efficiency, control and customer experience.
  • Contribute to the design and maintenance of standardised data, onboarding and operational practices to ensure consistent, scalable and repeatable scheme management across the organisation.
  • Review and sign off change-related project documents from a data analysis perspective, including business requirements, data change requests, solution designs, test plans, UAT outcomes and implementation playbooks.
  • Evaluate and help ensure user readiness for change roll‑outs, including training needs, communications and post‑implementation support.
  • Work closely with the PMO to ensure work practices align with the organisation’s standard approach to project and change management.
  • Define and measure success metrics for relevant initiatives, monitor change progress and highlight outcomes, benefits and lessons learned.
  • Document meetings and complete structured reflections (for example quarterly) on lessons learned to help shape how the Finance Division approaches change initiatives in future.
  • Produce structured reporting on activities, progress, risks and outcomes for relevant stakeholders as required.
  • Comply with risk control and regulatory requirements relevant to the role and maintain appropriate commercial awareness in relation to Finance and scheme operations.

What is the purpose of this job?

The Data Analyst is responsible for managing and delivering system and process change initiatives within the Finance Division, with a particular focus on salary deduction schemes and related operational processes.

The role holder acts as a lead contributor, providing expert data analysis, stakeholder engagement and operational support to ensure change initiatives are delivered effectively and that the Finance Division has the technical and analytical support it requires.
