Job summary

Unilin Insulation is seeking a dynamic Factory Manager to lead our Navan site and manage the manufacturing facility across all operational departments. You will drive Environmental Health & Safety,Quality Control, Production, Warehousing, Technical Processing and Maintenance with a strong emphasis on Lean, continuous improvement and KPI delivery.

The role reports to the Operations & Engineering Manager for IRL & UK, requiring collaboration across IRL/UK sites, management of a high-performance

Qualifications

  • Engineering/Operational Management degree (Level 8) or Level 7+ with experience.
  • 8+ years in a senior management level in manufacturing.
  • Ability to collaborate with peer groups and improve business & site performance.
  • Proven track record in delivering on Health & Safety and Operational KPI’s.
  • Experience leading the sites Lean Management and Continuous Improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Reinforce company leadership values and goals to all employees on an ongoing basis.
  • Overall management of operational KPIs on site to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Developing site business, department strategies and implementation of group initiatives.
  • Coach a cross functional team of direct reports responsible for manufacturing our products.
  • Maintain a proactive culture of continuous improvements & best practice throughout the plant.
  • Identify KPI improvements and cost savings initiatives with the site management team.
  • Ensuring all operational personnel are trained so that optimum operational performance is achieved.
  • Site remains audit ready & in compliance with ISO standards, regulations, and statutory agencies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across IRL & UK sites plus the insulation division on group wide initiatives.
  • Provide regular updates to Operations Manager, Group Managers & Leadership Team.
  • Undertake flexible working hours & travel to our sites within Unilin as required.
  • Further developing a high-performance organisation, steer an operational excellence approach.
  • Achieve optimal results in a cost-efficient and high-quality manner. Monitor volumes, cost, quality and overall OEE.
  • Embed the Zero Harm culture (health & safety culture and improve H&S performance – frequency/severity).
  • Launch CAPEX investments to keep up with the technological innovations.
  • Create a healthy work culture in line with the UNILIN values. Remain an employer of choice.
  • Create an effective organisational structure. Coach and develop the employees to ensure their competences, skills and know-how are used and developed to the best advantage.
  • Establish good collaboration with all internal (Insulation, UNILIN and Mohawk) and external stakeholders (clients, business partners, competitors, employer's associations). Further develop the image of the organisation.

Job description

Unilin Insulation is looking for a dynamic Factory Manager to lead our Navan site. The primary objective of this role is to manage the manufacturing facility across all operational departments and meet the needs of our customers daily. The Factory Manager reports to the Operations & Engineering Manager for IRL & UK and is responsible for all day-to-day site-based activities ranging from Environmental Health & Safety, Quality Control, Production, Warehousing, Technical Processing and Maintenance. The Factory Manager must lead by example, strive for results, challenge the status quo, improve best practice, and coach multi-disciplined teams. #insulationUK

Key Attributes:

  • Engineering/Operational Management Degree qualified – Level 8 / Level 7+ with experience considered.
  • 8+ years working at a Senior Management level in a manufacturing role.
  • Ability to collaborate with peer groups and improve business & site performance.
  • Proven track record in delivering on Health & Safety and Operational KPI’s.
  • Experience leading the sites Lean Management and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Shows drive and initiative. Is committed to excellence and pursues high standards.
  • Is a natural and charismatic leader with the necessary empathy to understand the drivers of another person and to motivate teams.
