Job summary

A leading care service provider in Dublin is seeking an Entry Level Facilitator to support individuals with disabilities in achieving personal goals and participating in community activities. The ideal candidate will hold a Fetac/QQI level 6 Qualification and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A valid manual driving license is essential for this role.

Job Description

St. John of God Dublin South East Services provides a network of education, training, employment, respite, community living supports and rights promotion to children and adults with intellectual disabilities in South Dublin. The successful candidate will have:

Key Responsibilities – Facilitator

  1. Support service users to achieve personal goals and independence through person-centred planning.
  2. Facilitate meaningful, goal-driven activities that promote learning and community participation.
  3. Provide respectful support with personal care, communication, and daily living needs.
  4. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and safeguarding procedures.
  5. Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with policy.
  6. Collaborate effectively with colleagues and external professionals.
  7. Uphold confidentiality, equality, and professional standards at all times.
  8. Build links with community resources to enhance opportunities for service users.
  9. Participate in training and continuous professional development.
  10. Contribute to service quality and improvement through teamwork and initiative.
Qualifications
  • A Fetac/QQI level 6 Qualification e.g. Social Care/Training/Education/Teaching etc
  • Commitment to a Person Directed Planning approach
  • The ability to identify and develop people’s natural support networks, work and social roles
  • The ability to facilitate and support service-users, including people with complex needs, in both service based and community programmes.
  • Knowledge of relevant national legislation and policy e.g. New Directions
  • Excellent communication, organisational, interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Must have a full valid manual driving license (this is essential for the role and must be stated clearly in the application)
