Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Verify and calibrate equipment (balances, pipettes).
• Conduct environmental monitoring and sterility checks.
• Support method validations and internal audits.

Skills

Prior experience in preparing and plating samples using aseptic technique

Experience in using rapid methods (e.g. ELISA or PCR)

Excellent standards of PC literacy (Excel, Word)

Analytical and logical approach

ALS has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Microbiology Lab Technician to join their team in Clonmel. This position will suit a candidate who already has experience in working in a commercial laboratory.

Job Summary

• Prior experience in preparing and plating samples using aseptic technique is essential
• Experience in using rapid/alternative methods (e.g. ELISA or PCR) is desirable
• Verify and calibrate equipment (balances, pipettes)
• Interpret results/plate counting
• Conduct environmental monitoring and sterility checks as applicable
• Support method validations, proficiency testing, and internal audits
• To ensure that agreed quality systems are continually adhered to such as calibration checks, internal quality controls, daily checks, and spiked samples.
• Perform other duties as required.

Education, Skills and Qualifications

• Third level qualification in Science or related discipline
• 18 months+ experience in laboratory testing in a laboratory business
• Excellent standards of PC literacy (Excel, Word)
