Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an Electrical Engineer at our Dublin, Ireland facility to support the European air-cooled chiller engineering organization. You will perform detailed electrical design, analysis, and control work for panels, VSDs, and harnesses, aligning with European directives and standards.

You will collaborate with production, laboratory, service, applications, and marketing teams across Europe, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to new product development while expanding

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of work experience in a related field.
• Working knowledge of European directives and standards (CE marking, Low Voltage, EMC, Machinery).
• Proficient in electrical design and able to implement ideas.
• Able to organize and process large amounts of data.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel up to 10% within Europe.

Responsibilities

• Completes detailed design of electrical power panels, control panels, VSDs, and wire harnesses per EN/IEC standards.
• Works under supervision, follows defined processes to implement design ideas.
• Defines and plans own project activities and releases design documentation.
• Mentors junior engineers and communicates project status clearly.
• Tests electrical performance and reliability of chiller systems and components.
• Selects suitable electrical components balancing cost, performance, and reliability.
