Job summary

Qualifications

Job Description

The Equipment Engineer is responsible for managing and performing engineering operations within the organization. This role ensures that production processes and assets meet standards of quality, cost, safety, reliability, maintainability, and performance.

The Equipment Engineer supports Maintenance, Reliability, and Asset Management activities by improving equipment reliability, optimizing asset performance, reducing downtime, and supporting the lifecycle management of critical manufacturing equipment. The role contributes to the design, construction, testing, commissioning, operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of equipment, supporting Takeda's mission of delivering better health and a brighter future.

How you will contribute

• Manage projects and processes, working independently with limited supervision
• Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance strategies for critical assets using PM optimization and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA)
• Conduct critical spare-parts analysis to identify, assess, and optimize the availability of spare parts required to support equipment reliability, maintenance readiness, and business continuity.
• Design, construct, test, and operate equipment to meet production standards
• Ensure quality, cost, safety, reliability, and performance standards are met in production processes
• Interpret plans, drawings, and specifications for engineering projects
• Work collaboratively with: Project Engineering to support the integration, commissioning, qualification, and handover of newly acquired assets into maintenance and asset-management systems.
• Support corrective maintenance and shutdown job planning, including scope definition, resource and materials planning, scheduling, risk assessment, and coordination with relevant stakeholders.
• Coach and review the work of lower-level professionals
• Apply advanced knowledge of engineering practices to solve difficult and sometimes complex problems
