Qualifications

Environmental Test & Validation Technican – Team Horizon

Team Horizon currently has an exciting opening for an Environmental Test & Validation Engineer to work on our client’s manufacturing facility in the west of Ireland.

What you will be doing:
  • Before the test, prepare the test environment in preparation for the validation/test engineer to evaluate before test start
  • Check parts are available, identified and at the right level of representativeness regarding the test required, populate relevant logistics trackers and lab bar‑coding system
  • Check with the validation engineer that the tools are capable for measurement required
  • Realise the test (electrical, mechanical, environmental, reliability) in the standard time and in line with the instruction sheet (test specification)
  • In case of difficulty, try to solve it by him or herself or with support if needed (team leader, validation team manager, validation engineer, project team member). Apply the QRQC methodology
  • Input into writing of the test report considering the real test conditions, use picture for more comprehension
  • Contribute to product problems solving, support 5W2H / PDCA
  • Police parts logistics and correct archive the parts after test (bags, labels, boxes, pallets)
  • Coordinate planning for the planned testing and allocated resources (chambers, tools, benches)
  • Coordinate the specific tools needed for the validation (test specification and follow‑up) whenever they are done inside the company or external to the company
  • Familiarise with working system using bench equipment to enable view on delivered product and to understand customer problems
  • Carry out all work to comply with Quality Management System and Validation Engineering Processes e.g. ASPICE, ISO/IATF16949
  • Work with Methods & Tools (M&T) team to develop test environment solutions to enable Design & Process Validation (DV/PV)
  • Test set‑up and verification of test platforms
  • Understand basic level of Test script development (using NI LabVIEW / TestStand)
  • Execution of testing using lab equipment (using thermal chambers, IPx) as per test specification
  • Safety focused and dedicated to maintaining high quality standards
  • Contribute to the improvements of the laboratory’s tools such as: instruction sheet, logs, H&S start‑ups, development, and validation tools
What you need to apply:
  • Background in Electrical, Electronics or Mechatronics.
  • Desirable Experience:
  • Test experience desirable.
  • Programming in National Instruments LabVIEW and TestStand software - Certified LabVIEW
  • Developing instrumentation interfacing over PXI, PCI, USB, RS232 & GPIB
  • Ability to read, analyse and interpret complex documents /schematics.
  • Knowledge of automotive electronics systems, with knowledge of test & validation methods and accelerated life testing.
