Job summary

Jones Engineering is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to join our team in Co Louth. You will support the safe and efficient operation of the EHS function, reporting to the Operations and EHS Manager, and coordinating across pharmaceutical, life sciences, construction, and related sectors.

Core duties include reviewing safety documentation, conducting site inspections, delivering toolbox talks, and driving safety training.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar EHS role (essential).
• Experience in the construction sector (desirable).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (required).
• Strong organizational and planning skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide regular review of safety documentation, RAMS and task plans.
• Ensure site personnel comply with site safety and company requirements.
• Implement and maintain the company’s Safety Management System.
• Complete regular site inspections and audits, reporting findings to the EHS Manager.
• Identify training needs and update KPI’s as required.
• Deliver and attend weekly toolbox talks.
• Carry out mandatory safety training when required.
• Carry out daily site walks and report findings to project supervisors.
• Advise and assist site teams in drafting Safe Plans of Action.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated EHS Officer to join our team in Co Louth. As a key member of our team the EHS Officer will play a vital role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the EHS function in the JEG family. The successful candidate will report to the Operations and EHS Manager.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Provide regular review of safety documentation, RAMS and task plans.
• Ensure site personnel comply with site safety and company requirements.
• Implement and maintain the company’s Safety Management System.
• Complete regular site inspections and audits, reporting findings to the EHS Manager.
• Identify training needs and update KPI’s as required or requested by the Operations Manager.
• Deliver and attend weekly toolbox talks.

• Carry out daily site walks and immediately report findings to project supervisors.
• Advise and assist site teams in drafting Safe Plans of Action.

This role will provide exposure to a wide range of expertise relating to pharmaceutical, life sciences, construction, and other sectors. The successful candidate will be supported in developing their knowledge and skills as their responsibilities grow and evolve.
