Job summary

FRS Recruitment is seeking an experienced EHS Coordinator for a busy East Cork manufacturing site. The successful candidate will report to the EHS Manager and play a key role in site safety, contractor oversight and regulatory compliance.

The role focuses on managing third-party contractors, reviewing risk assessments and safe systems of work, and delivering improvements through site KPIs while ensuring PPE and procedures are followed.

Qualifications

  • Must have a Higher Diploma in Safety, Health and Welfare at Work or equivalent.
  • Proven experience with Permit to Work / Safe Work Permit systems is essential.
  • Experience coordinating third-party contractors on a manufacturing site.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and issue Safe Work Permits / Permit to Work for maintenance, contractor and project activities.
  • Coordinate and monitor third-party contractors to ensure site EHS compliance.
  • Review risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work before start.
  • Ensure PPE adherence and site procedures for life-critical activities.
  • Support safety investigations, incident reporting and corrective actions.
  • Monitor EHS performance and drive improvements through KPIs.
  • Support MOC, safety reviews and development of safe working procedures.
  • Support environmental compliance including waste and wastewater activities.

Job description

Are you an experienced EHS Coordinator with strong Permit to Work and contractor management experience looking for your next opportunity in Cork?

Our client, a well-established manufacturing company based in East Cork, is seeking an EHS Coordinator to join their EHS team. Reporting to the EHS Manager, this is a key site-based role with a particular focus on managing third-party contractors and ensuring safe, compliant execution of works on site.

What you will be doing:
  • Managing and issuing Safe Work Permits / Permit to Work for maintenance, contractor and project activities.
  • Coordinating and monitoring third-party contractors to ensure full compliance with site EHS requirements.
  • Reviewing method statements, risk assessments and safe systems of work before work commences.
  • Ensuring contractors adhere to PPE requirements, site procedures and controls for life-critical activities.
  • Supporting safety investigations, incident reporting and the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Monitoring EHS performance and driving improvements through site KPIs and action plans.
  • Supporting Management of Change (MOC), safety reviews and the development of safe working procedures.
  • Supporting environmental compliance, including waste and wastewater activities.
What we are looking for:
  • Higher Diploma in Safety, Health and Welfare at Work or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in an EHS / Health & Safety role within a manufacturing or regulated environment.
  • Proven experience with Permit to Work / Safe Work Permit systems is essential.
  • Experience managing and coordinating third-party contractors on a manufacturing site.
  • Strong knowledge of risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.
  • Experience within a GMP or similarly regulated environment would be advantageous.
  • Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to challenge unsafe practices and hold others accountable.
