Job summary

Axis Environmental Services, part of the Celnor Group, is seeking an Environmental Consultant in Limerick. The role combines technical assessment, report writing, project management and regulatory support across EPA licensing, air quality, noise and environmental management.

You will work with monitoring teams, clients and specialists to deliver practical environmental solutions for industrial, commercial and public-sector projects, with travel to client sites across Ireland.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience within environmental consultancy, environmental compliance or industrial environmental management.
• Strong technical report-writing and data interpretation skills.
• Experience preparing environmental assessments, compliance reports or licence submissions.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Full driving licence valid for driving in Ireland.
• Willingness to travel to client sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and support EPA licence applications, reviews and amendment requests.
• Compile technical reports, assessments and environmental submissions.
• Assist clients with environmental compliance, reporting and licence management.
• Prepare Annual Environmental Reports and other regulatory submissions.
• Review monitoring data and assess compliance with licence conditions and environmental standards.
• Support environmental audits, inspections and regulatory interactions.
• Prepare Environmental Liabilities Risk Assessments (ELRAs) and CRAMPs.
• Develop environmental risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
• Undertake air dispersion modelling assessments and technical reporting.
• Support environmental noise assessments and modelling projects.
• Provide environmental inputs to planning applications and development projects.
• Manage project scopes, programmes, budgets and client deliverables.
• Prepare quotations, proposals and scopes of work.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, regulators and project stakeholders.
• Support the continued growth and development of Axis consultancy services.

About the Role

We are seeking an Environmental Consultant to join our growing consultancy team. This is a varied and client-facing role combining technical assessment, report writing, project management and environmental compliance support. Working closely with our monitoring teams, clients and specialist consultants, you will help deliver practical environmental solutions across a wide range of industrial, commercial and public-sector projects. The role offers exposure to a broad range of environmental disciplines, including EPA licensing, environmental compliance, risk assessment, air quality, noise, planning and environmental management. We welcome candidates with experience in one or more of these areas who are interested in developing their expertise across a wider consultancy portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and support EPA licence applications, reviews and amendment requests
• Compile technical reports, assessments and environmental submissions
• Assist clients with environmental compliance, reporting and licence management

• Manage project scopes, programmes, budgets and client deliverables

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Essential Requirements

• Qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline
• Experience within environmental consultancy, environmental compliance or industrial environmental management
• Strong technical report-writing and data interpretation skills
• Experience preparing environmental assessments, compliance reports or licence submissions
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Desirable

• Experience preparing EPA licence applications, reviews and compliance reports
• Experience preparing ELRAs and CRAMPs
• Air dispersion modelling experience using AERMOD or similar software
• Environmental noise modelling experience using SoundPLAN or equivalent software
• Experience supporting planning applications and environmental assessments
• Knowledge of Appropriate Assessment, AA Screening and Natura Impact Statements
• GIS and environmental data management experience
• Experience mentoring junior staff or reviewing technical reports
