Job summary

McKesson in Cork, Ireland, is seeking a Senior Manager, Cloud Data Platform Engineering to lead strategy, governance, reliability, and operational excellence of enterprise cloud data and AI platforms. You will partner across teams to modernize cloud services and build high-performing teams that deliver measurable business outcomes.

The role requires 9+ years of experience with hands-on Azure cloud platforms, Databricks administration, and strong governance/security expertise.

Qualifications

• Requires a degree or equivalent, 9+ years of experience, and 1+ years in supervision.
• Hands-on experience managing enterprise cloud platforms in Azure.
• Experience with Azure Databricks administration, governance, monitoring, security, and ops.
• Proven leadership of platform operations for data, analytics, or AI solutions.
• Strong cloud security, IAM, compliance and governance knowledge.
• Experience with service performance, incident management, and stakeholder comms.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise cloud data platform strategy, roadmap development, and service delivery execution.
• Manage managers, engineers, and platform teams responsible for platform reliability, governance, and operational excellence.
• Drive modernization initiatives supporting Azure-based data, analytics, AI, and machine learning platforms.
• Establish platform governance, security controls, compliance standards, and operational guardrails.
• Oversee service performance, KPIs, SLAs, capacity planning, risk management, and executive reporting.
• Champion automation, Infrastructure as Code, DevOps, DataOps, MLOps, and continuous improvement practices.
• Partner with business, technology, security, and AI stakeholders to enable platform adoption and innovation.
• Manage technology investments, vendor relationships, budgets, and resource planning while delivering scalable and cost-effective platform services.
